Nick J. Mauro Partner
Biography
Nick joined Carney Appleby as a Senior Associate in May 2019. Nick graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Business Administration in 1999. He received both the Iowa Tuition Scholarship and the Victor Pomerantz Scholarship for his outstanding academic achievement while completing his undergraduate studies. Nick earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2002. While in law school, Nick actively participated in the Journal of Corporation Law was selected to compete in the Van Oosterhout National Moot Court competition.
Nick is a member of the American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, the Polk County Bar Association, and the Iowa Association for Justice. He is also active in the Des Moines Community having previously served as president and board member for the Southwestern Hills Neighborhood Association, and serving as a volunteer youth sports coach for the past eight years.
Nick was born in raised in Des Moines, graduating from Dowling Catholic High School in 1995. His wife, Meredith, serves as the Shelter Care Education Program Administrator at Heartland AEA. Together they raise three children: Andrew, Nathan, and Sydney.
