Danielle A. Dunne Attorney
Biography
Danielle joined Carney Appleby Law as a law clerk March 2021. After engaging in other opportunities throughout law school, she returned to Carney Appleby Law as an Associate Attorney in 2023. Danielle was born and raised in Marion, Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa where she double majored in Political Science and Criminology, and minored in Politics and Law. She graduated with Cum Laude distinction and earned a spot on the Dean’s List each semester.
Danielle attended Drake Law School, and completed her entire first year online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While attending Drake Law School, Danielle served as the Secretary of the Moot Court Board, a Student Fellow for the Integrated Study Group Program for new law students, Treasurer of the Criminal Law Society, Academic Co-Chair of the Drake Delta Theta Fraternity, Head Representative for BARBRI, and was a Drake Law Admissions Ambassador. Danielle served on the Editorial Board as a Note Editor for the Drake Law Review. While on the Drake Law Review, Danielle’s academic note was selected for publication. She also participated on the AAJ Mock Trial Team.
During her time at Drake Law School, Danielle clerked at the Iowa Court of Appeals, prosecuted two criminal cases in front of a jury, orally argued in front of the Iowa Court of Appeals, and earned the top “A” in two of her classes. Danielle earned a spot on the Dean’s List every semester while she attended law school, and was awarded the 2022-23 SBA Executive Board’s Outstanding Student Leader Award and the 2023 Iowa State Bar Association Outstanding Student Award, an award given to one student in the graduating class. Danielle graduated from Drake Law School with the Highest Honors distinction and as a member of the Drake Chapter of the Order of the Coif, a national organization recognizing law students who graduate in the top 10 of their class.
