Mike joined Carney Appleby in a unique capacity that acknowledges a long career fighting for client’s rights: special trial counsel.  His long career includes a number of notable cases and a history of fighting for people and clients who have found nowhere else to turn.  Mike’s calling is exemplified by a commitment to representing people, not cases.  Every person’s case is given the same attention no matter the size of the case.

Mike was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and moved to Iowa as a teenager.  After graduating from the University of Iowa with a political science degree, he obtained his law degree from Drake University.
